Adult ADHD Support
Living with ADHD as an Adult
Many adults with ADHD spend years feeling frustrated, overwhelmed or misunderstood before recognising that ADHD may be contributing to their difficulties.
ADHD is about much more than being distracted or hyperactive. It can affect organisation, time management, emotional regulation, relationships, work, self-esteem and overall wellbeing.
You may find yourself:
Struggling to stay focused on tasks
Starting projects but finding it difficult to finish them
Feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities
Forgetting appointments, deadlines or important information
Battling with procrastination and time management
Experiencing emotional highs and lows
Feeling exhausted from constantly trying to keep up with others
Being highly capable, yet struggling to reach your potential
How Counselling Can Help
Counselling cannot diagnose ADHD, but it can provide a supportive and non-judgemental space to explore how ADHD affects your life and develop practical ways of managing its challenges.
Together we can work on:
Understanding how ADHD impacts your daily life
Managing overwhelm and stress
Improving organisation and time management
Building self-esteem and self-confidence
Developing healthier routines and coping strategies
Exploring emotional regulation
Improving relationships and communication
Reducing self-criticism and building self-acceptance
My Understanding of ADHD
ADHD is something I understand both professionally and personally.
My own experiences of living with ADHD have given me a deeper appreciation of the challenges many adults face, including overwhelm, self-doubt, difficulties with organisation, emotional regulation and the feeling of constantly trying to keep up.
I know how easy it can be to internalise the message that you are lazy, disorganised or not trying hard enough, when in reality you may be working harder than most people just to manage everyday life.
Alongside my professional training and experience, my personal understanding of ADHD allows me to offer a compassionate, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel understood and accepted.
While every person's experience is unique, many clients find it reassuring to work with someone who genuinely understands some of the realities of living with ADHD.
